"Bad" cholesterol calculated via Friedewald equation from total cholesterol, HDL, and triglycerides.

Preparation

Fasting required (8-12 hours)

Fasting 9–12 hours required for triglycerides and LDL calculation. Recent high-fat meals, alcohol, and illness affect results. Draw in the morning.
