Directly measured LDL; more accurate than calculated LDL, especially when TG is elevated.

Preparation

Fasting required (8-12 hours)
Fasting 9–12 hours required for triglycerides and LDL calculation. Recent high-fat meals, alcohol, and illness affect results. Draw in the morning.
